High-Flow Hot-End Project
Welcome to our main page for the high-flow hot-end project. Conceived by Peadar, the aim of this project Is to develop a hot end capable of printing a sub-10 minute benchy!

Here is our plan so far:
1) Heatsink (Will, Matthew)
Task:
Develop simple first prototype heatsink
Goal:
Determine machining limits that will control heatsink design and material choice
Requirements:
Group mount fitting to extruder motor
Fit E3D heat break
2) Heatblock (Josh, Akash, Ioan)
Task:
Develop simple heat block
Goal:
Determine machining limits that will control heatblock design and material choice
Requirements:
Can fit standard thermistor and heater
Fit V6 nozzles
Fit E3D heat break
3) Heater (Ioan)
Task:
Explore cylindrical heaters
Goal:
Evaluate the manufacturability of a cylindrical heater
Requirements:
List of possible configurations
List of pros and cons for each
4) Extrusion test rig (Peadar, Will)
Task:
Design system for testing the extrusion flow of a given hotend
Goal:
System for performing extrusion flow tests
Requirements:
Group mount for any hotend
Direct drive extruder
Control board with editable firmware
Pronterface/Raspberry Pi for interfacing
Experiment G code
A frame for assembling the test rig
5) Design of experiments (Peadar)
Task:
Create a set of experiments to gain an understanding of variable relationships
Goal:
Set of relationships relating volumetric flow to internal heater block design parameters
Requirements:
